LETTER L & PURPLE September 18th-22nd
- CALENDAR-This week we will be focusing on the color purple and Letter L. Our friend Lamar Lobster helps us learn letter L's name & sound. This week students will come home with a letter L written on their right hand with a grape scented purple marker to help them know their right hand for flag salute and to reinforce the color and letter they are learning this week. With the upcoming fall season on the 23rd we will be talking a lot about how leaves will be falling from the trees soon and that leaves start with L.
- PHONICS-This week the nursery rhyme that goes along with our phonics lessons is "1, 2, Buckle My Shoe"
- CIRCLE TIME-Our circle time lessons are largely for social emotional learning. This week we have reviewed our Mr. Potato Head Expectations, we will talk about the 12 Guiding Principle Word of the Week, "Honesty". And we also get to visit Mrs. Randall for Fine Arts each Thursday.
- PRE-READING/WRITING-This week we will learn to build letter L with our wood pieces. We will color on our purple page in our handwriting books as well as trace the letter L. We will also make a letter L craft where we glue leaves onto the L, as well as color our Lamar Lobster Book.
- MATH-Math is imbedded daily into activities that we do. Our calendar time involves learning our colors and counting. Our L craft involves naming colors, making a pattern, and counting the leaves glued on. While playing during centers, teachers interact with students and encourage counting, sorting, and comparing sizes and shapes.
Below is a playlist of letter L songs. You should see 3 bars in the corner. If you click the bars it should show you a menu of all the songs.
